Going cupcake crazy

January 23, 2010

Aren’t cupcakes more fun than one giant cake?

I love them! Brightly colored sprinkles, different flavors of cake and a lot of icing choices make mini-cakes fun to eat! The cupcake trend sweeping America is A-OK by me. Georgetown Cupcake, Cakelove, Hello Cupcake… all good!

Best cupcake? I’m obsessed with the German Chocolate cupcake at Cakelove — so moist and rich, with a sprinkling of coconut on the chocolatey frosting. :D

Nothing can beat homemade, though. When my mom asked what kind of cake I wanted for my birthday, it was cupcakes all the way. Vanilla cupcakes with mocha frosting, to be exact.

Pretty, pretty. Now it’s just taking all of my willpower not to devour the entire batch. Thankfully, I was able to dole out a few to friends this morning (check back tomorrow for a brunch recap) and there are only a couple left in the kitchen. Whew!

Do you know people who say they don’t have a sweet tooth? I am SO not that girl. Give me sweet over salty any day!

Driving up to Baltimore tonight to see “Young Frankenstein” and then off to Cambridge, Md., tomorrow with Lauren. This is a great birthday weekend! :D

What is your favorite kind of cake?

You mean your fave cupcakes aren’t chocolate chip and frostingless? Bowl, spatula, measuring cup, whisk…

those look wonderful! I would have a hard time not eating the whole batch too. Yes, nothing can beat homemade and I love pretty much like any kind of cake. My fav was when my fiance made peanut butter chocolate mousse cake for my b-day :) Have a good trip!
