Warm weather, warm colors

May 1, 2010

My purchases lately seem to reflect the weather and nature.

I tend to wear a lot of blue and black (like a bruise…?) so I’m making an effort to break out of that rut.

Thanks for the good deals, Marshalls.

Yes, the warm colors of summer are slowly creeping into my closet, replacing–or at least adding to–the pile of blue sundresses. And it’s not just my closet, either.

After all, who can pass up a fire engine red tea kettle? Not I! I may not have a kitchen to use it in but when the day comes, I’ll be ready to make a cup of tea first thing. I also don’t own any furniture besides a bed but my future kitchen already is well-stocked with dishes, cutlery, formal china, several teapots, a slow cooker and, now, a kettle.

At least my priorities are straight. Food, then furniture. ;)

Speaking of a kitchen, I’m off to look at an apartment and check out the Passport DC festivities. It’s a scorcher today but I’m sundress-ed, sunblock-ed and ready to carpe diem.

What colors do you wear the most? Are you stuck in a color rut?

All of my shirts are either blue or black. Oh wait, I do have some grey in there! I am just not a color person either apparently. =)

I definitely wear shades of blue and turquoise the most, but I also try to add in different colors for spring and summer … such a cheerful time of year!

Blue, black and grey were my mainstays. Lately I’ve ventured into green and red and actually like them :-)

Enjoy your day as we have no need for sunscreen today…..just raincoats!

What a cute bag! A few years ago I bought my red Kitchen Aid mixer and I love the pop of color it has given to my kitchen.

I find I tend to dress in a lot of grays, blues, blacks and brown during the winter. That should be switching up now that it’s summer….I had a coral sundress on yesterday. :)

I tend to stick to black, blue, grey, brown, green, and purple (whooa long list) in my wardrobe. I go for bright accessories though! I don’t have too much cashola to spend on clothes, so I tend to stick to the basics and get creative with shoes and bags.

Breakfast goodies headed your way girl!
