When it rains, it pours

May 19, 2010

Buddhist temple, Seoul, South Korea

No, not like that!

The past couple of days have been an absolute whirlwind of good things. Funny, because the palm reader said that I was going through a period of discontent and confusion, when nothing could be further from the truth.

When it rains, it pours: Brittany and I signed our lease today and will move into our apartment the Sunday before Memorial Day! We are both excited for this new adventure and everything that comes with it–okay, mostly the decorating, but the other stuff, too. ;) It’s our first real foray into adulthood and I think we’re both a little overwhelmed but also so thrilled about what the future holds.

When it rains, it pours: I got a job! I’m incredibly blessed that in the five weeks between coming home from Down Under and today, I was able to find a job that is pretty much a perfect fit. It’s essentially full-time blogging in a corporate environment so, naturally, that’s right up my alley. I officially found out yesterday and am completely ecstatic.

When it rains, it pours: Thankfully we were able to negotiate an earlier move-in date than our lease says but I’ll be starting a new job and moving within a day or two of each other. Stressful? Yes. Exciting? Also, yes.

What good news have you had this week? Come on, brag!

Yay!!! I so did not expect this post to be so happy with that title haha- I like the idea of it raining good things. I also can’t believe you’ve been back for 5 weeks, where is my life going? Congrats on the new job and apartment, can’t wait to hear about them and see pics!

Haha that’s true, the title could definitely go both ways. Pics will *def* be up–maybe some before and after decorating ones.

Congratulations on both–fun! I just got a job, too, teaching high school English and journalism in a VERY small town. I am starting the apartment hunt and my options look to be extremely limited! This will be a new adventure, too! Good luck! :)

    • May 19, 2010 8:26 pm

Congratulations to you, too! Apartment hunting is definitely difficult but worth it when you find a place you love… or at least a place you can make home for a year or two. ;)

Congratulations on finding the most perfect job ever! Blogging full time? I can’t think of a better way to spend 8 hours a day. I hope you’ll be able to share more about what you are doing! I can’t wait to hear more.

    Wow, how exciting! Congratulations. =)

Nothing like that around here, I’m having one of those BAD “when it rains, it pours” times in my life.

Thank you! I’m sorry you’re not having a great time right now… Would a little sunshine help?

Congrats on the job and the apartment! Being an adult is hard work, so gold stars for you :) This week I have been a good sister, daughter and friend! I have made time for other people which is so important for someone like me with a little social anxiety. It’s been fun!

Thanks Jess! It’s actually in Sterling, Va., so quite a schlep haha. Are you in Arlington?

  16. May 20, 2010 8:19 am

Awesome news! That’s really great that the job was almost perfect as not many are that lucky. Good luck with the move. Love to help but I have a HM to run that morning :-)

Wow, I’m so excited for you! It sounds like a dream job! (Okay, I know hosting a travel show is your dream job, but it’s pretty close!)

  18. May 20, 2010 9:45 am

Super exciting! I was really stoked about my sweet little summer job, but your big girl job puts mine to shame!

    • May 20, 2010 10:00 am

haha yea, but I’ve been out of school for two years. About time to find a real job–if only it involved fresh produce, too, that would *really* be the dream.

  19. May 20, 2010 12:54 pm

Congrats on the job! I am so excited for you!

My job news this week is that I am… out of the office next week. In DC! I need to get away from work (traveling for work, but it will be nice to get away from the office!).

    • May 20, 2010 1:08 pm

Thank you. I hope the weather is nice for you next week–DC is absolutely gorgeous this time of year.

  21. May 20, 2010 3:28 pm

    Congrats on your new job!
My good news for this week is that I ran a 7:00/min mile! I was quite proud of this accomplishment!

  22. May 23, 2010 10:11 am

That’s amazing news on the job front, congrats!!! I am a really firm believer that everything falls into place when it has to, and I’m so glad that it’s worked out for you with a job that seemingly will involve writing and engage your full awesomeness and potential :-)

Your summer is going to be such a blast!
