Addicted

May 21, 2010

Wow, my blogging schedule has been way off this week. I usually try to post mid-afternoon but it’s been an understandably busy week so things have been a bit off.

When I go back to work, I’ll probably post in the evenings since that’s likely when I’ll have the most time. We’ll see — I’m just winging it these days, guys.

I do have a confession to make, though.

My name is Erin and I’m an addict.

Well, besides that addiction. ;)

I am addicted to adorable kitchen goods. Show me a bright red tea kettle or hand-painted trivets and, well, I just can’t say no.

The object of my obsession lately has been Le Creuset. How can you not love this line of pots, pans and dishes that comes in a dozen bright colors and all shapes and sizes.

Unfortunately, Le Creuset is expensive–although maybe the expense is a good thing because it keeps me from buying too much. But I did snag some great deals on the clearance rack at The Great Indoors today.

A gorgeous turquoise casserole dish:

And a batter bowl that will come in handy when baking muffins and making pancakes:

The only other piece I have is a vibrant red French oven that at one point belonged to my grandmother.

I figure that these are good investment pieces, items that will last for decades and always be useful and in style. In many other areas, I’m frugal–buying water glasses at Target, shopping at IKEA and furnishing the apartment with a lot of hand-me-down furniture. But there are some things worth spending money on and Le Creuset is one.

Marshalls is also a fantastic place to pick up marked-down Le Creuset. No one knows whether that cute serving dish came from Marshalls, TJ Maxx or Nordstrom so really who cares?

Is there a product you splurge on? Where do you save and where do you spend?

Oh I am SO with you on this one! I absolutely adore Le Creuset, since my mom first scored some great casserole dishes at Marshalls. I’ve been digging through TJ Maxx regularly ever since! Great finds, Erin! I love the turquoise.

I’ve never purchased anything from Le Creuset, but they have beautiful things.

I’m not a bit shopper, but I always seem to be buying scarves. I have a whole drawer full of them, and I always seem to find more ones that are too lovely to pass up. They make a fun souvenier from traveling too.

I absolutely love kitchenware, and I have one of the massive Le Creuset casseroles which gets a lot of use (particularly in the winter, for soups and casseroles). I could spend a fortune on my kitchen if I had the cash!

Oh, and there’s a little something for you at my blog.

I don’t splurge on kitchen wares. I splurge on fitness equipment(bought another bike yesterday) and golf(bought a new to me 3wood 2 weeks ago).

Marshalls has some great deals. I got my two new pieces for under $60 together, which is amazing.
