Yogurt yearning
My breakfast just isn’t living up to its promise. I made the seemingly innocent switch from yogurt (Trader Joe’s organic vanilla) to rice milk in an effort to reduce the amount of dairy in my diet.
Somehow that small switch completely changed how breakfast fills me up. Rather than being happily full from breakfast at 7 to lunch at 12:30, my stomach starts rumbling around 11.
Who knew that such a small change could make such a big difference?
I think it’s time to go back to yogurt on my non-oats days so the question is: what’s the best kind?
Oikos, which is organic and made by Stonyfield? So many bloggers seem to love it!
Fage, which my family eats? Plus it comes in those huge tubs at Costco!
Back to my favorite Trader Joe’s vanilla? High sugar, sadly, but oh-so good! And… organic!
Okay, that was my old breakfast bowl and wow, it was good.
So… you tell me. What is your favorite kind of yogurt? Greek, organic, flavored, fruity — I’m open to the possibilities but want something that will help fill me up and keep me satisfied all morning long! (That’s what she said?)
My September challenge has some guest stars tonight — dinner party with friends!

Isn’t it crazy to see how much some foods can fill you up and others leave you empty?!
Especially when it’s basically the same breakfast!
Oh man, that’s a tough one. I love Trader Joe’s Greek yogurt, but there isn’t one within two hours of where I live now (sad!). My favorite, though, is Greek Gods yogurt which I’ve only found at my local Kroger: http://greekgodsyogurt.com/.
SO GOOD. And cheaper than most.
Maybe I’ll look for that, although we don’t have Kroger here. I <3 being close to TJ's, can't lie.
I love the greek yogurt that is pretty plain tasting. I’d rather add my own fruit to it. Some of the fruity greek yogurts are way too sweet and syrupy.
That’s a great idea!
I’ve tried pretty much every non-dairy yogurt out there, so If you ever want to venture in that direction I’d have to recommend Wildwood! And Silk is good too (but sugary)
My roommate tried a Silk yogurt and really liked it but it’s definitely harder to track down than dairy yogurt. Maybe I’ll give it another shot.
I like the Fage 2% yogurts.
Cool.
I love Fage with the little honey pot, but it’s sooo expensive. For cost reasons I switched to plain Chobani and mix in all sorts of things (granola, fruit, etc) It’s yummy and keeps me full.
Yea, it’s definitely mostly a cereal mix-in for me. TJ’s is great because it’s CHEAP (and organic and delicious and… haha)
