Thankful Thursday
February 23, 2012
What a gorgeous week! Blue skies, no clouds, temperatures near 70* today — could anything be better? I know we never had a real winter here in DC — can you believe the biggest snowstorm I saw this year was in southwest Texas?! — but it was nice not to bundle up and freeze every day.
Okay, one snow day would have been nice.
This week, I’m thankful for:
- fresh oranges, pomegranates and berries — none of it’s local but it’s such a nice change from the apples and pears that made up the earlier part of fall and winter grocery shopping
- dinner dates with friends from abroad
- dinner dates with friends who recently moved home from abroad
- booking plane tickets to two exotic summer locations: Chicago and Goderich, Ontario
- grande one-pump peppermint skim misto
- literally LOL’ing during Mindy Kaling’s book
- flats and no tights
- healthy Lenten resolutions
What are you thankful for this week?

Water. I’ve been drinking all sorts of other things lately (iced tea, lemonade, cranberry juice, Dr. Pepper) and this morning I glugged some water and was reminded how wonderful the simplest things are.
CHICAGOOOOO
I’ve always wanted to go to Chicago, looks beautiful and sounds like a city full of fun! This week I am grateful for a short work week [3 days]
